Bosse (Guarea spp.), sometimes referred to as “Guarea,” is a tropical hardwood native to West and Central Africa. It has been gaining traction in the woodworking and millwork industries as a versatile and reliable substitute for more expensive or endangered hardwoods. Visually, Bosse ranges from a light pinkish-brown to reddish-golden hues, aging to a warm, rich tone. Its grain is generally straight, though it can be interlocked, with a fine to medium texture and a natural luster.
