ORIGINS: West Coast of Africa primarily Ivory Coast, Gabon and the Cameroons BOTANICAL NAME: Chlorophora excela COMMON NAME: African Teak COLOR DETAILS: Sapwood is yellowish white, Heartwood can be either dark chocolate brown to light tan color WEIGHT: approx 4 lbs per B.F. WORKABILITY: Carbide Tips recommended, machines well but with some tearing of interlocked grain. Can be a challenge to glue.
