A New Source of Premium Teak from India Arriving June 2025
WoodVendors.com is excited to announce a major update for teak buyers across the United States: beginning June 2025, we will have limited availability of Premium Quality Tectona grandis from India. While the stock is not technically First European Quality (FEQ) grade Teak, it is the closest match we have been able to find since the ban on exports out of Myanmar was put into place.
With the long-standing U.S. import ban on Burmese Teak from Myanmar, the market has been facing a severe shortage of premium quality teak stock. For years, Burmese Teak set the standard for quality in the industry—renowned for its golden color, straight grain, and dimensional stability. But with the supply cut off, many manufacturers, boatbuilders, and woodworkers have struggled to find suitable alternatives.
That’s why this shipment is such a significant development.
Sourced with great care from India
Our mixed container load of Indian-grown Teak is the closest match we’ve found to the quality of Burmese Teak—featuring:
- Rich, golden-brown color
- Clean, straight grain
- Excellent workability and finish
While Indian Teak typically doesn’t offer the same widths and lengths as the old-growth Burmese logs, this batch represents some of the finest stock currently available on the global market. It’s been hand-selected from a long-standing supplier who shares our commitment to sustainability, consistency, and quality.
Why This Matters
The demand for high-grade Teak hasn’t slowed—especially among marine, architectural, and luxury millwork clients. But supply has been the missing piece.
Now, with our June 2025 shipment, domestic buyers have a rare opportunity to secure premium Teak without resorting to lower grades or less familiar alternatives. It’s an ideal time to restock, quote new jobs, or simply secure a material that’s becoming increasingly scarce.
Reserve Your Material Now, Kiln-Drying in June – Shipping Begins July/August 2025
Once the container arrives in June, the Teak will undergo kiln drying at our facility—a crucial step to ensure the material is properly conditioned for interior and exterior use. We expect the kiln-dried stock to be ready for shipping and distribution by July or August 2025.
This timeline gives our customers a dependable forecast for planning summer and fall production runs.
Quantities are limited and early interest has been strong. If you’re a U.S. buyer looking for a reliable domestic source of Teak, we encourage you to reach out now to discuss availability, dimensions, and pricing.
We’re proud to bring new solutions to the hardwood market—and this Indian Teak is one we believe will make waves.
